TOSH Creative Start Up Programme: Meet Graduate Ana Clara Burin

The applications for the 5th wave of our new and improved Creative Start Up Programme, Spring 2024, are now officially open! We're super excited about this next wave, and we can't wait to meet a whole new bunch of creatives at TOSH.

In the meantime however, we'd love to share some thoughts from our wonderful Wave 4 Start Up Graduate, (and Start Up Desk resident!), Ana Clara. Ana joined us at TOSH back in Summer 2023, when she first settled into her own personal Start Up Desk in our coworking space. Having spent the summer working here on her poetry, collaging, creative events, children's books, art markets, and graphic design work, it was clear Ana Clara would fit right in to our Creative Start Up Programme! Now, having navigated her diverse range of art forms and endeavours to form The Universe of Ana, you can find her out in the world hosting immersive art jams, releasing poetry books, and producing her very own podcast, The Intuitive Eye.

Who are you and what is your brand?

I am Ana Clara, and I am a multimedia artist. From writing poetry and children’s books, to hosting art related workshops and events. I focus on bringing art to community, bringing an element of play and fun. For me, there is no one that can’t be an artist.

Why did you do the Start Up Programme?

I joined the Start-Up Programme not knowing where to put my focus on. I was hoping to gain some insight and to find some structure and advice on how to start building my small business.

What did you gain?

I gained so much from this course, particularly with financial advice, branding, and the overall great care from Sammy- that helped so much. Sammy made it possible for me to head in a direction that meant I didn’t necessarily need to cut anything out, meaning I could join together all the things I love doing into my very own branding. The course definitely helped with building my own confidence and having accountability to venture out into the world more.

To whom would you recommend the course?

I would recommend this course to anyone that has an idea, or loads of them! If you are wanting to start out, or just even curious about how things can go.
