Event description

Whether you're a spreadsheet fan or the idea of a budget makes you want to hide - this jargon-busting workshop is designed to help you make friends with budgeting. Build your confidence in creating and managing project budgets and learn how to make them work for you. The session is designed to be useful whether you've done budgets before or if this is totally new territory.

Agenda

  • Approaches to budgeting
  • Creating a budget
  • Using your budget in funding applications
  • Managing a budget
  • Post-project
  • Resources and Q&A

What to bring to this session

Come with a project idea in mind (either something you want to create a budget for, or a previous project you can just use as an example) and we'll work through the stages of budgeting together.

No other prep required! There will also be resources you can use, top tips and time for questions.

About Christina Poulton

Christina focuses on making training affordable and accessible. Her training is informed by extenstive, current experience. Christina keeps the pace up and the focus on activities and jargon busting, so you leave with your questions answered and an action plan to get started.

"I'm a weird mix of a list-loving wannabe accountant and a creative, idea-a-minute people-person. I work with artists and small organisations to make your work easier to manage and fund. I genuinely love the "boring stuff" (finance, fundraising, policies etc) that underpin the arts and allow amazing things to happen. My superpower is translating management and funding jargon so it makes sense for when you're actually doing the things day to day."
