No experience is necessary and all materials will be provided. Please feel free to drop in during your chosen time slot or stay for the duration of the workshop.
This workshop is suitable for ages 4+ and must be accompanied by an adult throughout the duration of the workshop.
Session one - Sat 12th Oct
The pieces created will become part of the exhibition while they dry. Please feel free to stay until 3pm to learn painting techniques to decorate your pieces. Or, come back on Sun 20th Oct to learn paint with Mahtab, or to collect your sculptures and decorate them at home.
Session two - Sun 20th Oct
Design and sculpt your own clay pieces. Or, learn painting techniques with your already dried clay pieces! If sculpting the clay pieces in this workshop, you can take your sculpture with you, let it dry and decorate it at home.
Please note, both of the above sessions are the same workshop, with the same structure and materials - you can come to one, or both!
In both sessions, participants are welcome to return at 1.30pm and stay until 3pm to paint and decorate their sculptures.
Mahtab Grimshaw
Mahtab Grimshaw is a multi-disciplinary artist, puppet maker, and puppeteer based in Bournemouth. With years of experience in theatre, media, and the visual arts, she brings stories to life through puppetry, sculpture, and installation art. Grimshaw also facilitates puppet-making and clay workshops for all ages, blending her expertise with a passion for community engagement. Her work often explores themes of memory, migration, and belonging, influenced by her Iranian heritage and her life in the UK.
